Review : Disney on Ice “Find Your Gift” - Bringing Disney's Classics to Life

Disney on Ice "Find Your Gift": This year's Disney on Ice guides the audience through beloved Disney worlds, including "Tangled," "Beauty and the Beast," and "The Little Mermaid," led by Mickey Mouse and his friends. Beneath a sky filled with floating lanterns, Rapunzel, with her long hair, uncovers the truth hidden in the light. The intelligent and beautiful Belle, who harbors loneliness in her heart, finds her inner light and meets the Beast. Ariel, yearning for the world on land, falls in love with Prince Eric. Making its debut this year is "Encanto," where the Madrigal family showcases their unique magical gifts set to rhythmic music. The breathtaking fusion of world-class skating, Disney's iconic songs, dazzling costumes, and vibrant lighting creates an unforgettable experience.

Before the performance even began, Disney songs filled the venue, and children dressed in Disney costumes could be seen enjoying the atmosphere. Mickey and Minnie made their grand entrance in the opening, warmly greeting the audience by waving to every corner of the arena.

In the "The Little Mermaid" segment, Sebastian's appearance set the stage, raising the audience's excitement as Ariel and Flounder joined. Ariel's graceful portrayal of swimming through the ocean, lifted by three skaters to the tune of "Part of Your World," was truly captivating. The following "Under the Sea" featured skaters dressed as seahorses, starfish, and colorful fish, vividly expressing the vibrant life of the ocean. Their bright costumes and cheerful expressions were enough to thrill the audience. The scene where Ariel, now human, elegantly ascends on a rope, and her romantic moment with Prince Eric in "Kiss the Girl" were also highlights not to be missed.

Next, in the "Moana" segment, the crowd cheered as Moana made her entrance on a boat in response to calls of "Moana!" Her powerful performance with Maui in "You're Welcome" captured Moana's strength on the ice, mesmerizing the audience.

In "Tangled," the iconic scene of lanterns floating in the night sky was beautifully recreated. Rapunzel's lighthearted dance during "When Will My Life Begin? (Reprise 2)" conveyed her overwhelming joy to the audience. Additionally, the scene where Rapunzel and Eugene gracefully dance under the lantern lights was a perfect recreation of the film's most memorable moment.

In "Beauty and the Beast," the comedic interactions between Gaston and LeFou, along with Gaston's powerful skating, were a highlight. The use of bridge props in "Belle" effectively brought the French town to life, drawing the audience into that world. The performance of "Something There" by Belle and the Beast was a beautiful depiction of their growing love. The scene where Gaston stabs the Beast and falls from the roof, faithfully recreated from the original, left the audience in awe.

As the snow fell, "Frozen" began with a heartwarming scene. In Olaf's "In Summer," butterflies, bees, and flowers wearing sunglasses danced joyfully, with their delicate costumes and performances bringing a smile to everyone's face. "Let It Go" featured Elsa's stunning quick change, as her skating perfectly matched the familiar choreography from the movie, expressing her quest for freedom. The synchronized performance by Anna and Elsa beautifully showcased the deep bond between the sisters.

In the grand finale, Mickey, Minnie, the princesses, and princes all made a glamorous appearance, filling the ice with color. Each character's iconic performance and their attentive eye contact with the audience electrified the venue, wrapping it in a wave of enthusiasm.

Disney on Ice "Find Your Gift" provided a memorable summer experience, with Disney's iconic songs, dazzling costumes, and vibrant lighting seamlessly blending with world-class skating. Moreover, the diverse staging, such as Isabella descending on a flower swing from above in "Encanto," captivated the audience. The continuous cheers and applause created a sense of unity, making it the perfect summer event for families, bringing joy to many.
