THE COMMUNITY NUTCRACKER Performs 20th Year at the Florida Theater

The Florida Theatre presents the 20th season of their annual classic and beloved Christmas tale, THE COMMUNITY NUTCRACKER at the Florida Theatre. With a timeless score by composer Tchaikovsky, THE NUTCRACKER tells the story of young Clara, the Nutcracker, the Mouse King, the prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and many other delightful characters from around the globe. Over 200 children from around Florida perform in this production.

School Performances:
Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.

Community Service Night:
Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Public Performances:
Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011: 2 p.m. (matinee)
and 8 p.m. (gala)

THE COMMUNITY NUTCRACKER is a unique outreach program which gives out 2,000 free tickets to various Jacksonville organizations to attend a Community Service Night performance. They also provide the opportunity for residents of nursing homes to attend the ballet. It has also donated $350,000 to neighboring charities and NUTCRACKER dancers have performed at many events all over Jacksonville.
