Craig Smith, Managing Partner of the new Alhambra Theatre & Dining, announced this morning that its current show, "Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes" will be extending another week, to run through August 26 rather than August 19th.  The show, which opened on July 24, has been steadily attracting bigger audiences.  Smith wanted to accommodate the guests who weren't able to see the show during its scheduled run because of summer vacations and busy schedules.

"Typically our shows run five or six weeks, so this was an abnormally short run for us to begin with," said Smith.  "We've been fortunate to have steady crowds and the houses keep getting bigger.  We have had just a ton of phone calls from people disappointed they were missing out, and we are fortunate enough to be able to convince the band to stick around.  Plus we had the anomaly of an open week because of an earlier schedule change.  It's funny how things work out."

Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes stars Obie Award winner Jason Petty portraying country music legend, Hank Williams.   Petty has been written about in VarietyRolling Stone, The New York TimesThe New York Post and a host of other media for his uncanny ability to capture the sounds of Hank Williams.  Celebrating the life and music of Williams, Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes takes theater-goers back in time to the very beginnings of country music and pays homage not only to Williams, but to other country legends such as George Jones, Jimmie Rodgers, Roy Acuff and many more.  Accompanied by a live four-piece band all the way from Nashville, Petty recreates such Williams hits as I'm So Lonesome I Could CryYour Cheatin' HeartHey Good Lookin'Cold Cold Heart and more.
