TCT Off Broadway will present a youth production of Broadway Beat on April 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Aril 14 at 2 p.m. at 213 East Franklin Street. The show includes musical highlights from over a century of song and dance including Hairspray, The Music Man, The King and I, Wicked, Rent and Grease, and a medley of favorites from George M. Cohan! Tupelo Community Theatre's 2018 Theatre Camp, Planks, Pillage, Plunder!, will be July 9-13, 2018 at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Tupelo. Set sail with TCT as we learn the origin and uses of theater, art, and music through discussion of the characters of this year's play. This funny and thoughtful show will also discuss the real treasures in life- friendship and love! The original children's play is written by camp director and theatre instructor Danielle Frerer. Frerer is an actor at TCT and a music teacher and show choir director at Tupelo High School. Art instructor is Pat E. Parker, art teacher at Tupelo High School and music instructor is Claire Leeke, music professor at Northeast Community College. TCT's theater camp includes two sessions each day. Rising 1st-4th graders will meet each morning. Rising 5th-8th graders will meet in the afternoons. The cost of the camp is only $100 for TCT Season Members and families with more than one sibling attending. Non-member cost is $125. Applications are also being received for camp counselors. Season tickets are now on sale for the 2018-2019 productions at Tupelo Community Theatre at the Lyric on Broadway. The season includes The Marvelous Wonderettes, August 23-25, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe December 6-8, The Glitter Girls January 24-26, A Time To Kill March 7-9, and The Addams Family April 25-27. Season tickets begin at $60 for all 5 shows, a 46% discount over individual tickets. The renewal deadline is June 29th and priority for seating is given based on the date tickets are purchased. Tupelo Community Theatre will present Hello, Dolly!, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart, on April 26th, 27th, and 28th at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee at 2 p.m. on April 28th at the Lyric Theatre. The blockbuster Broadway hit, bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theater history. The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and "woman who arranges things," are certain to thrill and entertain audiences again and again. The show's memorable songs include "Before the Parade Passes By," "Hello, Dolly!," and "It Only Takes a Moment." Season ticket members may purchase or claim their tickets anytime.
