The Laurel Little Theatre Presents A TUNA CHRISTMAS on December 8, 9, and 10 at 7:30PM and December 11 at 2PM.

Just two actors play a total of 22 different characters. Catherine Nowicki directs veteran LLT actors Wess Hughes and her husband, Steven Nowicki, as they become all the various townsfolk of redneck Tuna, Texas....the third smallest town in the state. Tuna is a quirky little place where "the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies!"

The whole town whips itself into a frenzy over the traumas and dramas of their annual Christmas Yard Display Contest and the local little theatre's horridly bad production of A Christmas Carol.

Characters include Didi Snavely--the insipid used-gun store owner and R.R., her crazy UFO aficionado husband; Vera Carp and Bertha Bumiller, the leaders of the local 'Smut Snatchers' organization; Thurston and Arles, the DJs on the area's only radio station; and Helen Bedd and Inita Goodwin, the two gum snappin' waitresses at the local greasy spoon called The Tastee Kreme.

The LLT reservations line is open. Call 601.428.0140 anytime of the day or night to reserve your place. Evening performances are at 7:30PM and Sunday matinee is at 2PM.

The auditorium doors open 30 minutes before performances and the lobby and box-office opens 45 minutes before each performance.

Single tickets to shows are $15 ($12 for seniors and students). But a season membership ticket includes four punches to use at any time throughout the year. That Four-Punch-Season-Pass is $32 ($27 for seniors and students).

And there's packages for couples, families and groups:
**A couple's package of 2 Four-Punch-Season-Passes runs $52.
**A family package of 4 Four-Punch-Season-Passes runs $82.
**Groups of 10 or more, call for group discount pricing.

Just make your reservation for the show and then you purchase either the single ticket or the season pass when you come to the Arabian to see Tuna. Cash or personal checks accepted, but no credit cards.

AUDITIONS will be held on December 13 and 15, 2011 at 7:30 PM for A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.

Auditions for the third production of the season are coming up next week, and show director Amanda Robertson Gwin needs a cast of various ages for the drama of the season. The cast includes:
**6 adult women (college age and up, 1 Hispanic character speaks just a little Spanish)
**6 men (1 teen and 5 adult men)

Streetcar is the Pulitzer Prize winning play written by Mississippi native Tennessee Williams, and features Laurel's own most famous fictional character, Blanche DuBois. Some say Blanche was based on a notorious real-life teacher from our area that was run out of town because of her shady reputation. She ended up living in New Orleans' steamy French Quarter with her sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Stanley Kowalski. Blanche is a fading relic of the Old South, but a classic Southern belle who delivers that famous line "Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers."

No preparation necessary, just come to auditions and read.

3RD ANNUAL CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS JAZZ CONCERT wil be on December 16 7PM and is BENEFITING THE ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE.

Come and enjoy a live jazz trio performing the original musical score from A Charlie Brown Christmas while the famous animated TV movie is shown on the Arabian's new projection screen.

Created by Laurel professional drummer John Milham, the show will also feature Chris Spies on piano, Tommy Sciple on upright bass and LLT's own Missy Sanderson on vocals.

Children and families can get their picture taken with Snoopy in the courtyard before or after the show. Advance tickets are $10 adult/$5 kids and available at Southern Antique Mall, City Centre Coffee and Lee's Coffee. Day of show, tickets at the Arabian are $15 adult/$5 kids. This event is a benefit for the Animal Rescue League.
