There's a brand new Broadway revival of STREETCAR opening in NYC this April, but Laurel Little Theatre(LLT) was able to  secure the rights to present their own version that closes February 26.  Under the direction of Amanda Gwin, veteran LLT actors Rick Youngblood, Paula Pierce, Ben West and Katelyn Bryant lead a stellar cast that also includes Teresa Raybourn, Tod Lightsey, Brent Holifield, Marian Latimer, Scotty Whitehurst, Jillian Rochelle, Melissa Vowell and Landon Bryant.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE is the Pulitzer Prize winning play written by Mississippi native Tennessee Williams, featuring Laurel's most famous fictional character, Blanche DuBois.  Some say Blanche was based on a notorius real-life teacher from our area that was run out of town because of her shady reputation.  She ended up living in New Orleans' steamy French Quarter with her sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Stanley Kowalski.

The drama has won eight Tony Awards in its various Broadway productions and the 1951 movie with Vivian Leigh and Marlon Brando was a huge hit winning four Academy Awards. STREETCAR is a classic drama dealing with adult situations and not for the kids.

Performances for STREETCAR are through February 26 at 2PM.

(As always, the lobby opens 45 minutes before showtime and the auditorium opens 30 minutes before curtain)

Season tickets are currently available at 41% savings. The season memberships start as low as $32 for adults and $27 for students and seniors.  A season membership ticket comes with four punches the member can use through the year and members can take up to two punches on any one show.  That's a 41% savings off the price of buying single tickets at the door, almost two shows completely free by joining as a season member. There are even better savings with an LLT "Family Package" that gets two full season passes for a couple for a total of $52, or four full season passes for families for a total of $82.

Call 601.428.0140 to purchase tickets 24 hours a day.

New this year for LLT audiences is an earlier curtain for evening performances.  Sunday matinees will still begin at 2pm, but due to members' requests for an earlier night, all evening shows will now start at 7:30PM.   The auditorium will still open a half hour before all performances.
