Define simply as choreographer Shen Wei might be an understatement. In the work of the Chinese artist of New York, adopted the dance interacts continuously with all Visual Arts, giving rise to unique performance. Wei has studied Chinese opera from the age of nine years. After being awarded a scholarship, he moved to New York in 1995. He founded Shen Wei Dance Arts in 2000 and, after numerous international awards, took care of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The choreographer has always wanted a new approach to movement and to the body and developed in his works an original physical vocabulary. His shows connecting the Eastern aesthetic forms in the western regions, aiming at creating a mise-en-scène and hybrid painting.
