A contemporary version of the classic Jewish play by H. Leivick, which translates the Jewish legend about the golem from Prague to a stage laboratory that examines the tension between today's Israeli theatre and the classic Hebrew theatre, such as the Habima Theatre at its starting days.

The play's story takes place in Prague in the 16th century. The Maharal (Rabbi Yehuda Low of Prague), the leader of the Jewish community, crafts a golem from soil and sets life in it in order to protect the ghetto beleaguered Jewish community from the neighboring Christians' persecutions, led by priest Tadiosh. Once the golem successfully performs its first mission of murder the Maharal is deterred by the extreme violence bursting from the creature he created and he is estranged from it. After being abandoned by its creator, the golem becomes deeply depressed and day and night it lies on the community synagogue's threshold in order to meet the Maharal and once again win his patronage. This only leads to the renewed meeting with the Maharal becoming an inevitable tragedy.

In parallel to the play's story, a performative dialogue will be performed live between Yuval Meskin, son of Aharon Meskin who was the "original" golem in the Habima Theatre's mythological 1925 production, and Marat Parchomovsky, the director of the play, about the possibility to "revive" the total spirit of the Habima Theatre's at its starting days as an antithesis of the purposefulness of today's Israeli theatre.

Tmu-na Theatre is a community theatre and performance place, featuring acts that veer towards the fringe and avant garde.
