ROMEO AND JULIETTA to Play at The Arab-Hebrew Theatre Of Jaffa ImageTwo languages, both alike in dignity, in fair Israel where we lay our scene, a production of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Julietta, will play at The Arab-Hebrew Theatre of Jaffra Aug. 13 and Sept. 26. It will be a bilingual production in both Arabic and Hebrew.

Romeo and Juliet is the classic love story of two star-crossed lovers who endure a tragic fate. When the play opens, Romeo, of the house of Montague, is wallowing in self pity after the girl he is interested in does not reciprocate the feeling. He finds Juliet, of the opposing house of Capulet, at a ball and the two fall in love at first sight. The two have to hide their love as their families forbid it.

After the two young lovers are married in secret, Juliet asks Romeo to break up the fight between her cousin Tybalt and Romeo's friends. Romeo goes with that intention, but ends up killing Tybalt to avenge his friend, Mercutio's death. Romeo is ordered by the Prince to flee Verona, but spends one last night with his bride promising that they will return to each other. A tragic misunderstanding takes the two away from one another in the end.
