The show SEVEN by the Mystorin ensemble betokens a new stage in the fiels of visual theatre in Israel.
This show was created specifically for the Tel Aviv central station and merges with its cultural force.
The show runs across 7 floors, through 7 spaces with 7 performers. The show combines theatre, plastic art, musical performances and acrobatics.
The show is a free interpretation of Dante's "The Divine Comedy".The audience get to walk across the 7 circles of the inferno in a journey through a timeless world, on the edge between life and death.
The show is performed in the central station in Tel Aviv and blends with the everyday function of the station, turning the space into a part of the performance. It is an immersive theatre performance that happens outside the realm of traditional theatre. The station's daily routine continues to run parallel to the show and becomes a live participant in the creation, constructing a fantastical world which the audience, the performers and the passengers en route share.
"As the future of the massive central station building is uncertain, we see a great significance in creating a work of art that runs through the building's abandoned spaces. We operate in the belief that art has great power to change reality and find beauty in dreary places. We use art to bond and unite people in a shared spiritual experience that brings the beauty of art and its world-mending force to everyone.
This is enhanced by the utilization of the central station building, with its multi cultural aspects and colourful elements. The space creates a common anchor and a rendezvous point for the various groups which compose Israeli society, forming a dialogue between the different world views." Yulia Ginis, Manager and Creator.
