The Ronan Collins’ Showband Show which has been a complete sell-out around the country is back. With a stellar line-up, this year’s show promises to be even bigger. Ronan will once again host and compare (as well as sing a few tunes) while Brendan Bowyer - The King - returns with songs like 'The Hucklebuck', 'It’s Now Or Never' and 'Boolavogue'.
For the first time, they are joined by Gina from The Champions who will sing some of her hits like 'Minnie Minnie', 'Drunken Sailor', 'Give Me Back My Love' and 'Dreams are Good Friends. Paddy Cole, well-known multi-instrumentalist also joins the pack. Originally with the Capital Showband and The Big Eight, Paddy went on to become a household name in his own right.
The line-up also includes special guest artists such as the multi-talented Lorraine MacDonald, daughter of Joe Dolan’s trumpet player Frankie McDonald and one the brightest talents to emerge from the latter days of the showband boom. Tommy and Jimmy Swarbigg, remembered for their Eurovision performances for Ireland from 1975 to 1997, will sing some of their hits such a 'Looking through the eyes of a Beautiful Girl' and 'If Ma could see me now!' Accompanied by Galway boys, The Conquerors Showband, 'Reeling in the Showband Years' will bring back wonderful memories of a very special and unique time in Irish music history.
