Crash Ensemble play a selection of their [REACTIONS] commissions & postcard miniatures as part of their Irish tour, alongside sounds from across the globe and a brand new piece Standing Water by Kevin Terry, winner of the National Concert Hall Jerome Hynes Young Composers Award. A little bit about the [REACTIONS] series: Amidst the onset of the global pandemic, Crash commissioned Irish & International composers from a range of musical backgrounds to write new works for duos within the group. Building on existing collaborative partnerships and cultivating and nurturing new relationships, composers were invited to create a musical response to their experiences, the current state and their thoughts for the future. Crash Ensemble is strategically funded by the Arts Council of Ireland. Were Crash - Irelands leading new music ensemble; a group of world-class musicians who play the most adventurous, ground-breaking music of today. Crash are innovative, adventurous and ambitious. We are an amplified ensemble of 10 musicians, production crew and creative collaborators. Led by our cellist and Artistic Director, Kate Ellis and Principal Conductor, Ryan McAdams, we commission, collaborate, explore, investigate and experiment with a broad spectrum of music creators and artistic collaborators. We love to innovate, with quality always at the heart of everything we do. Crash Ensemble is strategically funded by the Arts Council and is a resident ensemble at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, Ireland.
