Kormac's Big Band & The West Cork Ukelele Orchestra at Cork Opera House

The seats have been stripped out for what promises to be an absolutely joyous double bill, Kormac's Big Band and The West Cork Ukelele Orchestra.

Fresh from an international tour of some of soem global festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Womad, Shambala, The Electric Picnic and Body & Soul festivals, Kormac's Big Band is an 11-piece orchestra, a mix of live turntables, samplers, drums, double bass, barbershop quartet, trumpet, clarinet, banjo and live visuals.

Twinned with these happy campers is the equally cheerful West Cork Ukelele Orchestra. Leapfrogging over barriers of genre, time and taste, the WCUO is comprised of nine disparate musical talents, brought together for one purpose: to rock the planet, ukelele-style! They will plunder the last 60 ears musical awesomeness to put a rip-roaring show full of lush harmonies and death-defying ukelele-playing. Expect to hear classic and contemporary pop songs put through the blender, emerging turbo-charged and sparkling with ukelele magic. From A-Ha to Lady Gaga, from the Beach Boys to The Cure, things will never sound the same again!
