The evening promises to be intimate affair as the Tenor will be joined on stage by guest Soprano Ms Celine Byrne, a native of County Kildare, who wooed both her audience and Mr Carreras when she appeared along side the artist at Killruddery in 2010.
Jose Carreras and Celine Byrne
Mr Carreras, easily the most famous Tenor of our time, last appeared in Ireland in 2010 to a packed amphitheatre in Killruddery House and Gardens where his performance gained immense praise from all reviewers.
Mr Carreras, a native of Barcelona, was first inspired to explore his gift at 6 years of age when he heard Mario Lanza perform. He followed the Great Caruso on to the stage at the tender age of 11 and has been wooing audiences and melting hearts ever since.
‘I am very much looking forward to visiting Ireland again’ Mr Carreras says. ‘Irish people have such a love of music and art it is always a pleasure to perform in their company’. Commenting on the venue the Tenor added ‘It will be my first appearance in the new Dublin Theatre which I understand lets the audience and performers thoroughly share the intimacy of the evening, which is very satisfying’
