For many years traditional super group De Dannan were the forerunners in the Irish traditional music world but after 33 years, 14 albums and a number of changes in the line-up, the group disbanded in 2003. Frankie Gavin, one of the most celebrated Irish fiddle players of all time and original member of De Dannan, reformed the band in 2009 to reflect “De Dannan of the 21st century”. The new line-up is led by Frankie, Barry Brady (accordion), Colm O'Caoimh (guitar and vocals), Paul O'Driscoll (double bass and vocals) and the incomparable Michelle Lally on lead vocals. Michelle follows in the long line of amazing singers in De Dannan such as Mary Black, Dolores Keane and Maura O’Connell. The group has performed for three American presidents including engagements at The White House and the U.S. Capitol Building. They have toured China with the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra and played venues such as Shanghai Grand Theatre and Beijing Opera House with performances aired on ‘China Central TV’ to over 500 million viewers. Their most recent album , "Jigs, Reels & Rock 'n' Roll", features their friend and Rolling Stones legend, Ronnie Wood, as guest guitarist.
