Don McLean- The American Troubadour at Cork Opera House

Cork Opera House is delighted to welcome to the stage the legendary singer-songwriter Don McLean, whose iconic hits “American Pie” and “Vincent (Starry Starry Night)” made him a household name the world over.

After signing his first record deal, McLean’s rise to stardom was secured. Since 1971, he has amassed over 40 gold and platinum records world-wide. In 2004, Don was inaugurated into the National Academy of Popular Music Songwriters’ Hall of Fame, an award presented to him by Garth Brooks. His songs have been recorded by artists from every musical genre, most notably Madonna’s No. 1 recording of ‘American Pie’ in 2000 and George Michael’s version of ‘The Grave’ in 2003.
