Award-winning cross-border theatre duo Jessie Doyle and Amanda Doherty present comedy-drama BIRD ABOUT TOWN at Dublin Fringe Festival exploring the empty contents of cupboards, a mushroom jungle growing in the kitchen, and the seagulls out to get you.
Alone, hungry, and haunted, one woman's world has completely unraveled since her breakup with her girlfriend.
Life moves now like a dream while the bills pile up and the phone rings unanswered. Struggling to make sense of her life and her loss, truth and fantasy quickly collide in this 60-minute, one-woman nightmare.
Bird about Town is new Irish writing from Dublin playwright Jessie Doyle (These Lights), directed by Juilliard graduate Michael Curran-Dorsano, and starring Derry actor Amanda Doherty (Inheritance, Eist Moran // Can Beagan [Hear Much//Say Little]). Set and Costume by Dylan McGloin (Druid’s FUEL residency 2024 - Deaf Republic), Lighting Design by Conor McGowan (Shauna Carrick Wants a Dog), and Sound Design by Padraig Ryan (Naked Lights).
First developed as part of No Touching Theatre Festival, Belfast. Developed at Fringe Lab with the support of Dublin Fringe Festival. Supported by the Irish Theatre Institute.
