Martin McDonagh’s ‘A Skull in Connemara’ is a sparkling black comedy about Mick Dowd whose gloomy job as a gravedigger sees him unearthing bones from his local cemetery to make space for new tenants each autumn. When Mick has to dig up the grave of his dead wife, Oona, it revives muffled rumours about Mick’s role in her sudden death. Is he a sad widower or in fact a ruthless murderer?
