Ulster Bank Dublin Festival is delighted to continue to present National Theatre Live, an initiative presented by in association with the Irish Film Institute, to broadcast live performances of National Theatre plays onto cinema screens around the world. FELA! a provocative and wholly unique hybrid of dance, theatre and music, exploring the world of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti directed and choreographed by Bill T. Jones, will be screened on Jan 13th (6.45pm) in the IFI.

Using his pioneering music (a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies), FELA! reveals Kuti's controversial life as an artist and political activist. Featuring many of Fela Kuti's most captivating songs and Bill T. Jones' visionary staging, FELA! - an original new creation - comes via Broadway to London and the National Theatre.
