It was announced today that the line up for Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival 2010 will include a new staging of The Silver Tassie from Druid. Directed by Tony Award winner Garry Hynes the cast of 19 for this production includes Liam Carney, Derbhle Crotty, Aoife Duffin, Clare Dunne, Brian Gleeson, Ruth Hegarty, Aaron Monaghan, Eamon Morrissey and John Olohan. Along with the usual stellar Druid creative team, music will be composed by award-winning Elliot Davis, who has worked on major West End hits such as Cats, Miss Saigon and Les Misérable and Pogues guitarist Philip Chevron.
Using all the resources of the theatre including live music and dance, this is an epic staging of one of O'Casey's great plays.
Druid, winner of 12 major theatre awards worldwide in 2009 including Best Production, Best Director and Best Ensemble, is back with a production you simply won't want to miss.
