UCC Strauss Ball Returns with Music by Evelyn Grant Cork Pops Orchestra

February 2nd will see the UCC Strauss Ball return for the thirty-third time. The ball is an extremely popular event which brings the University's Creative Arts Societies together for a night of music, fun and most importantly, ballroom dancing, with music provided by the acclaimed Cork Pops Orchestra, conducted by RTÉ LyUCCric FM's Evelyn Grant.

This unique feature sets this ball apart from all other societal balls. Take a step back in time and enjoy the beauty of a traditional waltz, followed by a return to present times with the very latest music sending us dancing into the early hours of the morning. This year's ball, to be held for the first time in the Cork International Airport Hotel on Thursday, February 2nd, has been organised in collaboration by UCC's Choral, Journalism, Knitting, Dramat, and Music Societies, and provides the perfect alternative to other University balls, in a sophisticated and elegant setting The date is set, the dancefloor awaits, and all is prepared for the classiest ball on campus!
