Join Baboro International Arts Festival for Children on a fun artistic journey through Winter and Spring, to celebrate Small Size Day 2017. Children and their grown ups are invited to enjoy a creative hands-on workshop, followed by immersive storytelling.
Wake Up Spring: Creative Explorations for Early Years with Jane Hayes
Explore a Winter wonderland and encourage Spring to awaken. Enjoy a workshop with a difference - an immersive, child-centred, sensory experience, which encourages parents to engage in creative play and art with their young children in this specially created space. Lead by artist Jane Hayes, this experience will enliven your child's disposition for wonder, excitement, curiosity and perseverance, and promises to be an exciting, art-rich, hands-on experience, using unusual materials with lots of help from the Baboró team.
Hibernation and Awakening: Storytelling with Phillida Eves
Enter a calm, cosy atmosphere, where you can snuggle with your child to enjoy winter stories. The bears, bats and hedgehogs are cold and need to sleep. They are searching for a cave, piles of leaves, or a burrow in which to safely shelter until the weather gets warmer. Explore the underworld of hibernating animals as they slow their breathing and heartbeats down at this time of year to get ready for a long sleep underground.
However, before too long, Spring gradually comes, bringing with it warmth, colour and light. Witness the animals emerge into the natural light as flowers push their way through the earth and leaves open up on the trees. Explore and celebrate a world exploding with the possibility of new life.
