World-renowned Tenor Anthony Kearns, the original founding member of The Irish Tenors performed at "Notre Dame: A Welcome Home" celebration before the Emerald Isle Classic Notre Dame v. Navy game. The musical extravaganza was held at the O2 arena in Dublin on Friday, August 31. Watch Kearns sing "You Raise Me Up," an inspirational song written by Rolf Løvland, with lyrics by Brendan Graham, during the performance in the video! Kearns arrives at around the 59-minute mark.

The evening of celebration featured elements of a Notre Dame pep rally with a fine line-up of top Irish performers for an unforgettable collaborative experience. Other performers included Liam O'Flynn, renowned Irish folk musician and master of the uilleann pipe, Brian Kennedy, protege of Van Morrison from Belfast, Damian Dempsey, Eimear Quinn, the ballad group, The High Kings, and the Irish choir, Anuna.

Kearns has the largest repertoire of Irish music of any performer today, and is also well known in the United States for his numerous high level concert performances, including many military and other charity benefits. Kearns first took the American television audience by storm in 1999 as the youngest member of The Irish Tenors with whom he has 10 CDs.

Acknowledged as Ireland's Finest Tenor at the Dublin National Concert Hall's Silver Jubilee in 2006, Kearns is a respected ambassador of Ireland to the world and has presented the music of his homeland across the globe. He frequently performs at charity concerts, on television, and with the finest symphony orchestras and opera houses in Europe and America. Most recently, he participated in the 3rd Annual Lismore Music Festival and at a special concert for legendary flutist James Galway. He is a member of the GRAMMYs (The Recording Academy).
