One of the best shows to go on tour in Ireland will make its way to Roscommon Arts Centre next Friday 12th November, featuring Frank McNamara and his talented family. Not unlike the Von Trapp Family, the hugely musically talenTed McNamara Family are touring the theatres of Ireland to great acclaim. Frank McNamara of the Late Late Show and a world class pianist is performing with his children - Twins Frankie and Quincy (14) play guitar, piano and sing; JJ (11) who was featured on the Late Late Show with his father earlier this year, is a child prodigy pianist and plays a number of pieces with consummate ease, that most accomplished adult pianists would find difficult. Daughter Charlotte (9) will also sing.

Frank plays a number of well-known classics and leads an informal night out with stories and questions to the audience. He hides well-known tunes in classical pieces for the audience to guess out loud and win a prize. It is most entertaining and is definitely not a piano recital. Each night Frank attempts to beat the world record of playing "The Flight of The Bumble Bee" on piano, timed on stage by a member of the audience.

Frank asks the audience if there are any budding musicians who would like to play a piece and normally the younger members of the audience have sufficient nerve to perform on stage. Anybody who loves music or wants to encourage their kids to play music should not miss this show. Tickets are available at Roscommon Arts Centre's box office on 090 6625824.

Adventures West of Ireland based theatre company Benbo Productions will perform 'The Adventures of the Wet Senor' at Roscommon Arts Centre on Thursday 18th November.

Featuring Carrie Crowley, who starred in 'The Dead School,' and with music by Kíla, 'The Adventures of the Wet Senor' is a dynamic mix of theatre and music, based on the story of Armada survIvor Francisco de Cuellar's adventures in the North West of Ireland.

In 1588 the Spanish Armada captain Francisco De Cuellar washed ashore on Streedagh Beach in Sligo and faced a desperate struggle for survival against British soldiers, violent heretic gangs, and savage natives. His year-long odyssey from Ben Bulben to the Giant's Causeway and onwards to Spain is Ireland's great untold epic adventure story. Combining the live music passion of Kila, the powerful storytelling skills of Donal O'Kelly ('Catalpa', 'The Cambria') and high octance performances by Carrie Crowley, Jamie Carswell and Sorcha Fox, this show breaks exciting new ground in music-theatre. Electrifying music, stunning visuals, superb physical performance and a rollicking story - the perfect night out. Reserve your tickets through Roscommon Arts Centre's box office on 090 6625824.
