GOD OF CARNAGE is a comedy of manners without the manners. Yasmina Reza's play deals with two sets of parents who meet to resolve a conflict between their two children; what is supposed to be a civilised meeting turns into a barrage of name calling, tantrums and tears. In this hysterical comedy when the gloves come off, dirty laundry is aired and the grownups find themselves in their own playground.
The Gate Theatre's play stars Maura Tierney, Ardal O'Hanlon, Owen Roe, and Christopher Hampton. It is directed by Alan Stanford. The original Broadway cast starred Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden.
