On Thursday 17 December, Mike McLaughlin of Gilbert Ash treated the Chairman, Board and Staff of the Lyric to a special tour of the new theatre building site. The builders at Gilbert-Ash even decorated their crane with Christmas lights for the occasion!
It's amazing how the new Theatre has progressed since building began back in March this year.
We saw the layout and foundations of the new auditorium and were able to fully appreciate the expanse of the new fly tower, already 5 storeys high with another level yet to be added.
We saw the outline for the new flexible performance studio, which Dr Naughton and his wife Carmel so generously funded through their £1million donation where we hope to attract new audiences and produce a variety of new work.
