David Ian Productions and the Ambassador Theatre Group have announced that Scotland's very own Gavin Mitchell will play 'Bob' and Karen Dunbar will play 'Shirley' in the smash hit musical PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT when it plays at the Edinburgh Playhouse from Tuesday 15 December 2015 to Saturday 2 January 2016. They join Jason Donovan as 'Tick', Simon Green as 'Bernadette' and Adam Bailey as 'Felicia'.

All three are available for pre-recorded interviews prior to the show arriving here next month.

Gavin Mitchell will take on the role of 'Bob' for the first time. Gavin is probably best known for his role of 'Boabby' the barman in the long running comedy series "Still Game" which went on to become a sell-out live stage show at Glasgow's SSE Hydro Arena. Gavin is also regularly cast in the annual Glasgow Kings pantomime.

Karen Dunbar will play 'Shirley'. Karen is best known for her work on the TV show "Chewin' The Fat" which ran for three series, she then went on to star in four series of her own show, "The Karen Dunbar Show". Karen's theatre credits include "The Vagina Monologues" at the Edinburgh Playhouse, "Men Should Weep" at the National Theatre in London and "Can't Forget About You" at the Lyric Belfast. She has also become a pantomime favourite starring in six pantomimes at the King's Theatre in Glasgow.

Jason Donovan played the role of 'Tick' when the show originally opened in the West End and its subsequent tour in 2013. His other West End credits include the title role in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and 'Caractacus Potts' in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". His touring credits include 'Captain Von Trapp' in "The Sound of Music" and 'Frank N Furter' in "The Rocky Horror Show" and most recently 'Lionel Logue' in "The King's Speech". His television credits include "Neighbours" and "Echo Beach". He was also a finalist in ITV's smash hit "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!" and reached the final of "Strictly Come Dancing". Simon Green's most recent stage credits include 'Bruce Ismay' in "Titanic" both in Toronto and at the Southwark Playhouse; "The World Goes Round" at the Union Theatre and 'Monsieur André' in "The Phantom of The Opera" on tour. Adam Bailey most recently appeared as 'Espresso' in the German production of "Starlight Express". His other theatre credits include 'Mary Sunshine' in "Chicago" at Leicester Curve and 'Alan' in "Bare" at the Greenwich Theatre.

Jason Donovan will not be performing on Thursday 24 or Saturday 26 December 2015.
