The Roscommon Arts Center of Roscommon, Ireland has announced its calendar for May and June 2010.
On May 19 at 8pm, veteran Irish actor Mick Lally will star alongside George McMahon (Fair City's 'Mondo') and Edwin Mullane in GOD'S OFFICIAL, a comedy about two heartbroken soccer fans whose team suffers because of the controversial decision of a hapless referee. The two decide to take matters into their own hands, so they track down the referee, kidnap him and hold him hostage. What follows are hilarious and unexpected consequences as their half-baked scheme goes increasingly awry.
On May 20 at 3pm, as part of the Bealtaine Festival, the Center will present a free screening of 'Dean Spanley' starring the legendary Peter O'Toole. The film is the story of Fisk, a publisher exasperated by his cantankerous father (O'Toole). Fisk Senior has little time for his son; however, when the pair embark on a journey that eventually allows the old man to find his heart.On June 9 at 8pm, The Last Laugh Comedy Club will present Andrew Maxwell of The Panel. Maxwell performed his audacious comedy act at Roscommon in 2009 to popular acclaim. Tickets are on sale now.
