As part of its commitment to work that engages in public debates of national importance, Fishamble: The New Play Company brings Maz and Bricks by Eva O'Connor on an 11-venue nationwide tour, arriving at the Everyman, Cork, for three nights, Tuesday 17th - Thursday 19th April, with a post-show discussion taking place on Wednesday 18th, hosted by Sandra McEvoy, Head of Womens Studies at University College Cork.
The production, which premiered in 2017, tells the story of two young people who meet over the course of a day in Dublin. Maz is attending a 'Repeal the 8th' demonstration, while Bricks is going to meet the mother of his young daughter. As the day unfolds, the two become unlikely friends, changing each other in ways they never thought possible.
Written by Eva O'Connor, the production is directed by Jim Culleton with the cast of Eva O'Connor and Stephen Jones. 'Maz and Bricks' is a particularly timely piece that is not to be missed.
Tickets to 'Maz and Bricks' include admission to a new witty and touching play, 'Bluetooth', on stage before the main event, at 7.30pm. Written by Rachel Thornton, and directed by the Everyman's Artistic Director, Julie Kelleher, 'Bluetooth' is the story set in the not too distant future, where a teenager strikes up an unlikely friendship with an android.
Tickets €20, concession €18, and students €9, are available from the Everyman box office, phone 021 4501 673, or online at everymancork.com
