Patrick Talbot Productions announces a unique evening at the Everyman Theatre Cork with two of Ireland's most popular singers.
Eleanor Shanley is one of the most prized singers in the history of folk and trad music on this island. Whether as a soloist or collaborating most famously with De Danann and Ronnie Drew, Eleanor's distinctive voice rings true with pure lyrical emotion.
Eleanor recorded two critically acclaimed albums with De Danann: A Jacket of Batteries and Half Set in Harlem and she toured all over the world with the band. She has also recorded with The Dubliners, U2, Sharon Shannon and Donal Lunny. With the late Ronnie Drew she also recorded two albums: A Couple More Years and El Amor De Mi Vida. They also performed hugely successfully together in concert.
Charlie McGettigan won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with Rock 'n' Roll Kids. He is a prolific singer/songwriter. His albums include Stolen Moments, In Your Own Room and Rock 'N' Roll Kids-The Album (with Paul Harrington) Charlie is also a very popular arts and music programmes presenter with Shannonside Radio.
