Antigone Rising, the all female rock/country band known for their catchy melodies and energetic shows, is currently touring and has just released their latest studio CD, 23 Red with producer Gary Philips.
The new single from their anticipated album, "Everywhere is Home," a full, country-influenced rock tune with perfect vocal harmonies, is already in heavy rotation on radio stations all across the US. The band recently signed with Meryl Music Distribution, the distribution arm of Blackheart Records Group, home to an eclectic group of artists including
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and The Dollyrots.
Antigone Rising exploded into the spotlight with their hit CD, From the Ground Up, which made its debut at Starbucks. The album sold over 150,000 units and enjoyed great success, entering the Billboard charts without having any previous radio or tv exposure and bringing a lot of attention to the new band. A major line-up shift in 2008 led to a brief hiatus, but the girls missed the music, and when they found Nini Camps, decided to move ahead with Nini on lead vocals. Their dedicated fan base has continued to grow and propel the girls further into the spotlight.
Known for their vivacious live shows, Antigone Rising has been invited to tour with such musical heavy weights as The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers Band,
Rob Thomas,
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Lucinda Williams and The Bangles among others.
