The League of Professional Theatre Women (Mary E. Hodges and Katrin Hilbe, Co-Presidents), announced today a grant award totaling $59,500 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the recovery of the nonprofit arts and culture sector. Following New York State's $105 million investment in the arts for FY2022, NYSCA has awarded more than $80 million since June 2021.

At yesterday’s Annual Meeting of The Broadway League, the membership elected a new Board of Governors, a new Vice Chair of the Road, and reelected the Secretary/Treasurer. The current Chair, Lauren Reid, will retain her position for the two years remaining in her term.

As theatres across the globe have started the journey back to normal operations, one thing has become abundantly clear: audience members aren’t buying tickets in the same way, or on the same cycle, that they were beforehand. As many producers have noted, audiences are buying tickets later and later in the cycle, with many ticket purchases coming within two weeks of the performance date. This shift means that producers and their marketing team must reconsider how and when they’re making their media buys.
