The next grant cycle will take place in the spring of 2024.
Two arts organizations have been selected to receive financial grants from the Stage Managers' Association Foundation in the most recent grant cycle.
A $1,500 grant has been awarded to the Wheat Ridge Theatre Company in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, who sought funding to create a scholarship program for young and/or student stage managers. In this new program, students and new stage managers will receive on-the-job training as well as a paycheck.
A second grant in the amount of $1,250.00 was awarded to the Stage Managers' Association (SMA) that is seeking to create a webinar series to increase stage manager knowledge of technical specialties that will be encountered in the workplace. This grant will supply honorariums for ten session presenters. The webinars will be free to stage managers and available on the SMA video library.
The Stage Managers' Association Foundation's (SMAF) mission is to support and promote the craft and the art of stage management by providing funds for continuing career education and development, for public events that enhance stage management skills, for advocacy, as well as for assisting in the creation of scholarships for early stage management training.
The Foundation awards grants twice per year. The next grant cycle will take place in the spring of 2024. Find details online at StageManagersFoundation.com.
