An arts organization and four individuals have been selected to receive monetary grants from the Stage Managers’ Association Foundation (SMAF) in the Foundation’s Spring 2024 grant cycle.
A grant has been awarded to the Mosesian Center for the Arts (Watertown, MA), which sought funding to sustain and grow the Stage Manager Training program at Watertown Children’s Theatre. This grant will enable them to give more stipends.
Four individual grants were awarded to:
- Nicole Lynn Clopton (Manchester, CT) to cover the cost of an Intimacy Training course.
- Allison Hohman (Astoria, NY) to cover the cost of attending the primary course at the Event Training Academy.
- Ryan Pettaway (Tallahassee, FL) and Phoenix Nasiyah Thomas (Munhall, PA) to attend the Broadway Stage Management Symposium in NYC.
The SMAF’s mission is to support stage managers by providing funds for continuing career education and development, and for public events that enhance stage management skills.
The Foundation awards grants twice per year. The next grant cycle will take place in the fall of 2024. Find details online at StageManagersFoundation.com.
