An industry reading of the brand new musical SPARKY, based on the life of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz, will take place on Saturday, November 17 at 2:30PM at Simple Studios (134 W 29 St). Conceived and directed by Brendan Stackhouse (Fun Home), SPARKY features music by Jack Levinson and book & lyrics by Jack McManus. The presentation is invitation only.
Sparky tells the true-life story of Charles M. Schulz, the beloved creator of the comic strip Peanuts. This 90-minute musical chronicles Mr. Schulz's life, where the Peanuts characters originated from, and why his legacy will live in infamy.
The cast features Matthew Ryan Tiberi (Finding Neverland), Laura Woyasz (Wicked), Robby Haltiwanger (Ghost 1st Nat'l Tour), Paige McNamara (A Night with Janis Joplin), Jeff Bodnar, Alex Ward, Kyle McClellan, April Lavalle, Tom DeMichele (Beauty and the Beast Int'l Tour), Beth DeMichele, Michelle Caniglia, Kolten Bell, and Chiara Trentalange.
Brendan Stackhouse (Director) Broadway: Fun Home (Assistant Choreographer). Brendan is the resident director for Hemlock Theatre Company on Staten Island and the resident Choreographer for Acting Naturally Youth Theatre in Philadelphia.
