IATSE, Broadway League, and Disney Theatrical Productions Reach Tentative Agreement Regarding the 'Pink Contract'

IATSE has reached a tentative agreement with the Broadway League and Disney Theatrical Productions regarding the "Pink Contract."

The 4-year agreement will give Broadway technicians in multiple crafts, as well as touring productions, increased wage rates and benefits, clarification on Prop Supervisors representation on Broadway, and updated conditions. Also, in the final year of the Agreement, they will receive compensation for nonperformance calls beginning at the first hour worked.

About the agreement, International President Loeb stated, "The tentative agreement is quite broad and has gains for all of the various crafts and jurisdictions that fall under the agreement. The negotiations committee that encompassed both Broadway and Touring technicians, and represented the various crafts such as Stagehands, Wardrobe, and Hair and Makeup helped craft this agreement to address the broad scope of issues and concerns of the various members and their crafts."

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada was founded in 1893 when representatives of stagehands working in eleven cities met in New York and pledged to support each others' efforts to establish fair wages and working conditions for their members.

Today, members work in all forms of live theater, motion picture and television production, trade shows and exhibitions, television broadcasting, and concerts as well as the equipment and construction shops that support all these areas of the entertainment industry.
