The arts consultancy and service organization FORGE NYC has announced the recipients of their 2023 FORGE Fellowship. Joining FORGE from across the U.S. and the world-and bringing their expertise in a vast array of fields including video game design and hairstyling alongside screenwriting, live performance, visual art and multimedia -these sixteen makers have been awarded a fully-subsidized six-month engagement with FORGE NYC, bookmarked with 14 points of contact curated to help them build the skills, systems, plans, and practices that will carry them not only through their current projects, but their life's work as creators.

Selected from a pool of almost 200 applicants, the 2023 FORGE Fellows are EGD Collective (Kyra Wills-Umdenstock, Skye Guan, Daquan Griffin), Alex Rubin, Alexandra Carson, Ayana Ayo, Brandon Rumaker, Camlia Galaz, Cris Eli Black, Danny Rocco, Jaimes Mayhew, Mar Hwa Wei, Orode Faka, So Mak, T. Carlis Roberts, and Vickie Wang.

"We were blessed by a wealth of truly incredible applications this year, and our absolutely essential Selection Panel-Amanda Wenger, Brea Clemons, Daura Campos, David Shane, and Phillip Christian Smith-guided us towards some spectacular makers. I'm delighted to help the 2023 cohort plan for, commit to, and thrive in an even more rich and rigorous Fellowship." says FORGE Co-Founder Chie Morita. "It's a joy and an honor to support an ever-growing cohort of amazing makers through a tighter, more focused program," adds Co-Founder Greg Taubman.

"Structure and consistent professional support are important but hard to find as an independent artist," says 2023 FORGE Fellow Camila Galaz. "I look forward to seeing the directions my career will go this year under the guidance of the FORGE Fellowship." 2023 FORGE Fellow T. Carlis Roberts adds "I'm pumped for the opportunity to help build a thriving creative community."
