DESCENDANTS: THE MUSICAL is Now Available For Licensing

In partnership with Disney Theatrical Productions, Music Theatre International is now licensing Descendants: The Musical.

Based on the trilogy of live-action Disney Channel original movies, Descendants: The Musical is a modern, coming-of-age story for a new generation of Disney characters. Featuring a contemporary pop score and iconic, larger-than-life Disney heroes and villains, Descendants: The Musical is a show created for performers and audiences of all ages.

Descendants: The Musical is part of MTI's newly launched Disney Channel Onstage collection, a licensing entity of stage musicals based on Disney Channel titles. Current shows include High School Musical, Camp Rock and Freaky Friday, all based on the hit original movies.

Descendants: The Musical follows Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos-the teenaged offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vill and Jafar-as they are welcomed to attend high school with the children of beloved Disney heroes. While living among their parent's sworn enemies, the four transfers discover a new way of life, forcing them to reexamine the difference between good and evil.

The show runs approximately 100 minutes and can be performed with or without an intermission. Descendants: The Musical provides a wide range of possibilities for flexible casting. Roles are available for 16 principal and supporting characters with additional opportunities to include as many performers as possible.
