Mary and Max, The Musical is adapted from the 2009 Australian film written and directed by Academy Award-winner Adam Elliot.
Drew & Dane Productions' Mary and Max, The Musical, with a book by Crystal Skillman and music and lyrics by Bobby Cronin, will hold a private industry salon on December 1 in New York. Tony winner Christopher Gattelli will direct.
Commenting on the 2019 sold-out, critically-acclaimed developmental production at Landestheatre in Linz, Austria, Kurier called it “Extremely entertaining and sophisticated. It may open a new musical era. Because what is offered here for eyes, ears and heart is a musical, but so atypically different, refreshingly modern - simply authentic.”
Adapted from the 2009 Australian film written and directed by Academy Award-winner Adam Elliot, Mary and Max, The Musical tells the story of two outsiders who were never meant to meet, but their unlikely long-distance friendship shines a light on the power of connection in a disconnected world.
The cast for the salon features Lauren Elder (Side Show), Adam B. Shapiro (Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish), Nick Adams (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Lena Marano (The Goodbye Girl), Anne Brummel (Wicked), Michael Williams (Wicked), Kennedy Kanagawa (Into the Woods), Caleb Hartsfield (Once national tour), Yassi Noubahar and Jazley Genovese. Anna Ebbeson (Paradise Square) will serve as Musical Director.
Drew & Dane Productions (Drew Desky, Dane Levens, Clayton Howe) serves as Producer.
