ABOUT THE PLAY: Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and became the hottest star on Broadway? Why, it's SpongeBob SquarePants! And now he’s ready to ride the wave to your theatre to entertain and delight audiences in this brilliant, bright, hilarious and brand-new musical. Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world! The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau. An exciting new musical featuring irresistible characters and magical music, this deep-sea pearl of a show is set to make a splash with audiences young and old. The future is bright, the future is bold, the future is THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL. 

GENRE: Musical, family-friendly. 

TICKETS: Tickets are $25 for general admission, $15 for students, and $10 for children (10 and under). Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets online ahead of time; available seating is limited. Please bring your phone to scan your ticket upon arrival; no need to print tickets- you can also be checked in by name. Occasionally, spam filters block the confirmation email. Please contact the Box Office to confirm your tickets if you do not receive the confirmation email within 15 minutes of purchase.

LOCATION: The performance will take place at Dreiser Theater in Dreiser Hall, located at 221 N. 6th Street Terre Haute, IN 47809, on the Indiana State University Campus.

PARKING: Park in Lot 5 (Cherry and 5th) or Lot 10 (Cherry and 6th). Parking is free after 5:30 PM during the week and on weekends.

BOX OFFICE: The online box office is always open. You can purchase tickets with cash or check in person at the Dreiser Box Office on showdays one-hour prior to curtain. Note: The lobby is open one hour prior to curtain; the house opens thirty minutes prior to curtain.

Director
Carolyn Conover is happy to be back for her 14th season, after directing last year's production of Noises Off and playing Marie in Cinderella! Other favorite CRT credits include Steel Magnolias, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Frankenstein. She received her MA in Drama at ISU and MFA in Acting from Michigan State. Carolyn is an Intimacy Choreographer, Artistic Mental Health Practitioner, and Associate Professor of Acting and Directing at Jacksonville State University.

Matt Mott

Scenic Designer
Matt Mott earned his BA in Scenic Design from the University of Northern Colorado in 2010 and his MFA in Scenic Design and Projection Design from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2015. Matt has worked previously as the Technical Director at the Jacobs School of Music, and the Design Generalist at the University of Northern Colorado. Matt’s designs include LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, directed by Edward Stern, BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON at the Unicorn Theatre, The Who’s TOMMY at the University of Northern Colorado, THE MAGNOLIA BALLET at the Phoenix Cultural Center, and NOISES OFF at Crossroads Repertory Theater.


Kate Mott

Costume Designer
Kate Mott earned her BA in Costume Design from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and her MFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2014. Kate’s designs include, LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, directed by Edward Stern, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE at Creede Repertory Theatre, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ERNEST at Constellation Stage and Screen, and RODGER'S AND HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA with Crossroads Repertory Theater. Kate’s favorite designs at ISU include A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS, and BASKERVILLE.
