BRIGHT HALF LIFE is a new play by Pulitzer Prize nominee Tanya Barfield.  The play is a moving love story that spans decades in an instance from marriage, children, skydiving and the infinite moments that make a life together.

BRIGHT HALF LIFE was developed during residency at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center’s National Playwrights Conference (Preston Whiteway, Executive Director; Wendy C. Goldberg, Artistic Director) in 2014.

Cast

Sam Marie Kuzian-Leverette

Diana
Sam Marie has been involved in the performing arts for over 20 years, and loves every aspect of it! She is ecstatic to be portraying the role of Diana Goodman! Sam Marie most recently has been working heavily behind the scenes in choreography, stage management, puppet building, and much more. A few of her favorite credits include “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (Rona Lisa Peretti), “Beauty and the Beast” (Mrs.Potts), and “Zombie Prom” (Delilah Strict). Next to Normal is a very important show to her as it sheds a light on mental health. Sam Marie also works as Production Manager and Technical Director for Marietta Theatre Company.


Danielle Lorentz

Natalie
Danielle has been acting and performing in professional theatre since she was 11. She has been seen most recently in “Arsenic and Old Lace” (Elaine), “And Then There We’re None” (Vera), and “Bring It On” (Eva). She is also currently directing Pumphouse’s production of “Much Ado About Nothing”. Behind the scenes, she has worked in a myriad of technical positions in both professional and community theatre, including Makeup Designer, Music Director, Writer and Director. She is the Production Manager and Chief Music Director for Mad Artists’ Entertainment, and also works as a full time audiobook narrator, voiceover artist, and voice teacher.


Evan McLean

Dan
Evan is very excited for his first performance with Mad Artists’ Entertainment! Next To Normal is a special show to him, and he is thrilled to be playing Dan in this production. Other Atlanta credits include: Trunchbull in Matilda (Legacy Theatre), Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz (Legacy Theatre), Robbie Hart in The Wedding Singer (Act 3) and more! Thanks to his wife Shadia, family, friends and everyone at Mad Artists’ Entertainment for the opportunity!


Tyler Webster

Gabe
Tyler Webster is salesman by day but by night he's a performer who's logged 18 years in the industry and has been apart of over 25 shows through his career. Some of his favorite credits include (Mortimer Brewster) in “Arsenic and Old Lace”, (Will Parker) in “Oklahoma”, (Emmett Forrest) in “Legally Blonde” and (Lombard) in “And Then There Were None”. He can also be found on HBO's Vice Principals and ID's Your Worst Nightmare. He's a passionate individual who cares very deeply for his craft and is very excited to be apart of Mad Artists’ Entertainment as Business Manager.


Emily Rowell

Henry
Emily Rowell is so excited for her first show with Mad Artists Entertainment. She is at Kennesaw State getting a degree in English and Film Studies, but still does theatre every chance she gets. Most recently, she has been in “Heathers” (JD) and “Carrie” (Chris Hargensen).


Vyanna Queen

Doctor Fine/Madden
Vyanna Queen, who plays the role of Dr. Madden, is a 21 year old college graduate with a bachelors of fine arts pursuing acting (Summer 22’) “Go Wolves!”. Vyanna has always dreamt of acting as a young child, when she saw her first play she knew right then and there she would take on in acting. This would be their first show outside of college and their 7th show all together. Vyanna has been told to be a triple threat as she sings, dance, and act. Her hobbies include making content, crocheting, and tarot readings. Vyanna has also done some short films and is pursuing a YouTube channel documenting their life. Vyanna would like to thank her family and friends for believing in her dreams and allowing her to reach them. She gives thanks to her theatre family from college for pushing her to be the best she can be. She also wants to give special thanks to her stuffed frog “pop pop” who is her guardian angel. They also give thanks to the cast & crewmates for the opportunity and kindness that was offered. She is forever grateful.

Matt Week

Director
Matt Weeks is an alumni of Kennesaw State University. This is their first production with Mad Artists’ Entertainment. Their past credits include Guys and Dolls and Matilda at the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, and Stupid F***king Bird and SpongeBob at KSU.


Samuel Ginn

Owner/Artistic Director of Mad Artists’ Entertainment
Samuel Ginn is the Owner and Artistic Director of Mad Artists’ Entertainment. His crew credits include Lucky Stiff (AD) at Lassiter High School, And Then There Were None (Director) and Arsenic and Old Lace (AD) with MAE, White Christmas (ASM) with City Springs, and Clue: Onstage (Director) with the Dallas Theater. You won’t want to miss this production!


Matthew Luce

Music Director
Matthew Luce graduated cum laude from Reinhardt University in 2016 with a BFA in Music & Theatre, and currently teaches piano & voice with Atlanta Piano Fortissimo. Recently, he music directed A Christmas Story: The Musical with Act I Theater in Alpharetta, and Putnam County Spelling Bee here at Pumphouse. When not behind the piano, Matthew has been seen in musicals all over the metro area in roles such as Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Phil Davis in White Christmas, Mysterious Man in Into the Woods, Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone, Angus Tuck in Tuck Everlasting, and Brother Jeremiah in Something Rotten!
