The Buck Creek Players will continue their 40th Anniversary Season "Fabulous at 40" with Clare Boothe Luce's comedy, The Women, opening tonight, March 21st, and running for two weekends through Sunday, March 30th. Curtain times will be at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees offered on Sundays. All performances will be held at the Buck Creek Playhouse on the southeast side of Indianapolis at 11150 Southeastern Avenue. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

A sinister commentary on the pampered lives and power struggles of many wealthy Manhattan socialites and rising stars, it tells how gossip propels and damages their relationships. Written and set in the 1930s, it is still very relevant today. You always wanted to know what your best friends were saying about you behind your back? You often ask yourself why women usually powder their noses in pairs? Find out in Clare Boothe Luce's The Women! Join a colorful group of women in their daily struggle to be good wives and mothers. Enter a world where intrigue and betrayal are as common as bridge and whiskey and soda.

The show opened on Broadway on December 21, 1936, and played to appreciative audiences for more than two years. Critics filled their reviews with nasty references, among them "malignant cats," "female lice," "Fleurs du Mal," and the wonderfully delicious "cat o' nine tongues."

The play spans more than two years in the life of Mary Haines and her society friends. When a calculating gold digger gets her claws into Mary's husband, she divorces him; two years later, she wins him back. That plot is enough to hang 35 characters from. All women, they represent Park Avenue ladies, their servants, and their aspirants.

The cast features: Erikka Barker, Katie Beckstrom, Sheri Bowlen, Gloria Bray, Tracy Brunner, Paige Clark, Katie Cody, Melissa DeVito, Rebecca Droeger, Judy Duncan, Bita Eisenhut, Denise A. Fort, Nan Macy, Brigitte McCleary, Hannah Parnell, Morgan Patrick-Roof, Allison Reddick, Emily Schaab, Kaylee Spivey-Good, Ashley Walke, and Joann White.

Andrew Ranck returns to direct after most recently directing the Buck Creek Players production of Auntie Mame in 2011. Joining Ranck on the production team are Cheryl Kern (Producer), Lea VIney (Technical Director), Linda Rowand (Costume Designer),Jeff Rowand (Lighting Designer), Brian Cook (Stage Manager), Melissa DeVito(Properties), and Kaylee Spivey-Good (Production Assistant).

This production has been rated PG, and parental guidance is recommended for adult situations and language. For more information or directions to the playhouse, visit the theater's website at www.buckcreekplayers.com.
