The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces the opening of FOREVER SUNG, A celebration of age in song, tonight, May 18 through May 26, 2012, in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre. A co-production of the University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community and The Phoenix Theatre, FOREVER SUNG is a live musical concert that celebrates every age of our lives.

According to Phoenix Producing Director Bryan Fonseca, “Sharon (Baggett) from University of Indianapolis called after she saw Pure Prine on the Phoenix stage and was interested in developing a show to tell the story of aging as a celebration of life, using the Pure Prine model.” Fonseca has developed an event with a specific charge: to examine, through music, the complexities of life after a certain age.

“We expanded the scope of the project to add perspectives about the aging process with the main emphasis on life after 60,” says Fonseca. “This allowed us to add younger folks, without losing site of the goal: as we age, we remain viable, productive members of society, living lives filled with complexity, new challenges and perspectives and insight which only come with age.”

Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 317.635.7529 to charge by phone, and are available online at phoenixtheatre.org.
