In September 2004, Oaklandon Civic Theatre opened its doors with John Nassivera's comedy mystery, "Making a Killing." Now, ten years later, three of the original four cast members are bringing the play back to the stage to celebrate OCT's anniversary.

For those who missed "Making a Killing" the first time - A Broadway playwright, his conniving producer and his actress wife hatch a plot to guarantee their new play will be a success - they fake the playwright's suicide on opening night! A remote cottage in Vermont becomes the new residence of the reclusive playwright who wants nothing more than a quiet place to write. However, after a few weeks the playwright realizes that "playing dead" is not so great after all. Meanwhile, the playwright's feisty agent is starting to suspect that something is amiss, the producer and playwright's wife seem to have their own agenda, and the police are wondering why no body has been found.

Or will a body be found?

The play features Steve Viehweg (Greenfield), James Trofatter (Avon) and Donna Wing (Geist Fisher's Area) who are reprising their original roles. Jill Murrell (Avon) was the stage manager in 2004, and will be playing the role of the agent.

Performance dates are Friday, November 7, Saturday, November 8, Saturday, November 15, Sunday, November 16, Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22.. Curtain is at 8 pm; 2 pm for the Sunday matinee. Tickets are $12 each. Reservations can be made by visiting the website at http://www.oaklandoncivictheatre.org/ or by calling 317-823-4761, ext. 4. As always, save room for dessert as "Bonnie's Café" will be serving a delicious refreshment based on the theme of the play. To further celebrate the occasion, there will be free birthday cake served at intermission on opening night, November 7.
