In the vein of AVENUE Q and SPRING AWAKENING comes BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON an irreverent, high-octane, hysterically funny musical about America’s first “rock star” president, Andrew Jackson. If you think politics is a dirty business today, just wait until you see what it was like in 1829!

This ground-breaking and innovative musical touches on themes not usually found in the genre. Winner of three Tony Awards and becoming only the eighth musical to win the Pulitzer Prize, NEXT TO NORMAL is a potent look at grief, loss, and, ultimately, healing.
THE LYONS

By Nicky Silver

Lisa, Rita’s daughter, is an alcoholic, and her son, Curtis, is gay, which he has not mentioned to his homophobic father. Tempers flare, words are exchanged, and secrets are revealed.
To Be Announced (TBA)
April 4-5, 2013
Livia and Steve Russell Theatre
Many times in the past we have announced a season with a “TBA” slot. This allows us the opportunity to wait for an especially “hot” play to become available. And this year is no exception. We have our eye on several titles which required a few more months past the deadline for this brochure for production clearance. This allows us to bring timely, new shows direct from New York and share them with you. I can guarantee that this show will be worth the wait.

Summer Season
The hottest season in Indiana is an exciting season at the Phoenix, too. The summer months mean the return of Dos Fallopia to the Phoenix stage, along with a second summer production. Additional details and exact dates and times will be announced, but we hope you put these on your calendar now.
Ticket Details
It is the goal of the Phoenix Theatre to be the best ticket value in town for live, professional theatre. Our ticket prices were the same from 1999 to 2009 – with the exception of one year due to inflation. Since then, we even lowered our prices when we felt the recession might keep people from investing in live theatre.
This season, thanks to the generosity of Katrina Basile Realtor, Phoenix CheapSeats will continue to be available. This season, Katrina Basile Realtor CheapSeats performances will be the entire opening weekend of each show and not just on Thursdays throughout the run.

The Phoenix operates the 130-seat proscenium Livia and Steve Russell Theatre as well as the 75-seat cabaret-style black box Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre. The Phoenix Pub, located in the Basile Theatre, serves beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks, water, and treats, and patrons may take all refreshments into either theatre. Both venues are housed along with administrative offices in a renovated 1907 church in downtown Indianapolis' historic Chatham Arch neighborhood, part of the Mass Ave Arts & Theatre District.
