A benefit run/walk to help raise funds for three area organizations will take place in the woods Abraham Lincoln walked as a boy.
The Department of Natural Resources, Friends of Lincoln State Park, and Lincoln Amphitheatre will co-host the fourth annual 5K run/walk on Saturday, May 4 at 9:00 a.m. CDT in Lincoln State Park.
Dubbed Mr. Lincoln's Neighborhood Run, the 5K run/walk route will start and end at Lincoln Amphitheatre's parking lot. The route will consist of the park paved roadways.
Participants may register by sending a check or money order to Lincoln State Park, PO BOX 216 Lincoln City, Indiana, 47552, ATTN: Friends of Lincoln State Park.
The price is $25 a person. Runners/walkers may register on Lincoln Amphitheatre's website under the buy tickets tab. This price does not include the $5 in-state or $7 out-of-state per car gate fee to enter Lincoln State Park.
All proceeds will benefit The Department of Natural Resources, Friends of Lincoln State Park, and Lincoln Amphitheatre.

Lincoln Amphitheatre's 2013 season kicks off with two concerts and an education program in the spring with "Celtic Spring: Song and Dance," followed a Gospel Concert featuring the Woodsman and the Childress Family and Tales and Scales presentation of "Mice!" The theatrical season includes "A.Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale," "Godspell" in partnership with Evansville Civic Theatre, and The National Players presentation of "Macbeth." The 2013 season will wrap up with the third annual "Trail of Terror."
