"The Cabaret is thrilled to be celebrating its 5th Anniversary," says Shannon Forsell, The Cabaret's Executive Director. "This season we are celebrating with a cocktail of cabaret created for even the most discerning of cabaret connoisseurs; a mixture of classic and contemporary, high-brow and low-brow, European and American with a splash of Broadway, popular music and Jazz."

The Cabaret's 2014 Winter/Spring Season kicks off with none other than Broadway and SMASH diva, Megan Hilty, performing her one-woman cabaret in her first visit to Indianapolis.

The lineup will also feature the vampy and sexy international cabaret sensation Meow Meow and her purr-fectly unique one-woman show. Three of Broadway's elite will grace the Cabaret stage including the audience's #1 favorite cabaret performer, Stephanie J. Block (Wicked, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 9 To 5: The Musical), Tony Award winner, Laura Benanti (Gypsy, Into the Woods,Swing); and Chester Gregory (Sister Act, Hairspray, Dreamgirls) in a tribute to Jackie Wilson. The Cabaret's new series, "Jazz at The Cabaret," presented by Morris Machine Co., Inc. and Chris Morris will feature a variety of Jazz artists including the gypsy jazz singer, Cyrille Aimée; multiple Grammy nominated Karrin Allyson and the smooth and cool, James Tormé. Topping off the season is critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Susan Werner.

"Glitzy and glamorous, and sometimes a little risqué," says Forsell, "The Cabaret offers unforgettable nights of music, satire, comedy, and story-telling; all with captivating, world-class performers, up-close and personal."
"The Lounge," a free club for audience members under age 35, continues to grow, still offering 20% ticket discounts and exclusive access to last-minute ticket specials. Membership can be obtained online or via the box office.

The Cabaret celebrates Black History Month with Broadway star Chester Gregory in his award-winning show The Eve of Jackie. Gregory reveals the sometimes tragic side of the man who recorded over 50 hit singles from 1957-1975 from "Lonely Teardrops" to "(Your Love Keeps Liftin' Me) Higher and Higher" and inspired generations of entertainers from Elvis Presley to Al Green to Michael Jackson. Gregory's Broadway credits include Sister Act, Hairspray, and Dreamgirls, to name a few. Other credits include The Jackie Wilson Story, Hairspray the Movie and performing for Michael Jackson.

Stephanie J. Block: THIS PLACE I KNOW

Tony nominated, Stephanie J. Block has established herself as one of the most relevant and versatile voices in contemporary musical theatre. Internationally renowned, Cyrille's vocal stylings are synonymous with musical genius. Her culturally rich background has supplied her with the driving force of Dominican rhythm and the incredible swing of the French Gypsies. Born in Fontainebleau, France, Aimée's introduction to jazz was the result of the fortuitous location of her upbringing in Samois-sur-Seine, where the legendary gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt once lived. At the young age of 27, Aimée has already released five CDs internationally, was winner of the Montreux Jazz Festival Competition and a finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition.
