The Madame Walker Theatre Center announces a new program, Kamp Kuumba, as a component of the already existing Youth-in-Arts Program. Kamp Kuumba has a tri-fold mission of providing quality, sequential, and skill-based arts instruction to children and youth (particularly from low-income and/or inner-city neighborhoods) at an affordable price, increasing and enhancing artistic partnerships with local arts professionals and students, and developing the next generation of the creative class in Central Indiana.
The program will provide creative opportunities from children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18.
Kamp Kuumba is an all-day program housed at the Madame Walker Theatre Center. Students will have daily classes conducted by arts professionals in theatre, dance, visual arts, spoken word, creative writing, music and stage design.
