Two southern Indiana theatres partner again in producing a family-friendly Broadway classic.
Lincoln Amphitheatre and Evansville Civic Theatre partnered in producing the two-act musical play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with eleven live performances beginning on Friday, July 20.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a Biblical saga with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber about the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. When Joseph is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. The musical is set to a cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll.
The production will be performed at the 1500-seat, covered Lincoln Amphitheatre located inside Lincoln State Park.
Lincoln Amphitheatre’s and Evansville Civic Theatre’s partnership in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will take the stage this summer at Lincoln Amphitheatre on July 20 2012, and will run Wednesday to Saturday evenings until August 4 with one Sunday matinee on August 5. Ticket prices are $18 for adults; $15 for seniors ages 55 and older, students ages seven to 21, and military; and $5 for children ages six and under. An optional homestyle buffet meal including fried chicken, ham, German fries, baked beans, vegetable medley, and slaw is available for an additional charge to guests who reserve at least three days in advance.
