The work of popular children's author Barbara Park comes to the stage as the Pyramid Players open their 2016 Live Theatre for Kids Series with JUNIE B. JONES, THE MUSICAL at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre.

It's Junie B.'s first day of first grade and a lot of things have changed for her. Junie's friend Lucille doesn't want to be her best pal anymore, and on the bus, Junie makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school.

Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting!

Jaddy Ciucci stars in the title role, with Trenton Baker as Daddy and Mr. Scary, Carrie Neal as Mommy, Mrs. Gutzman and Bobbi Jean Piper, Katy Gentry McCord as Lucille, Samuel P. McKanney as Herb, Jameelah L. Robinson as May and Grace, Justin Klein as Lennie and Sheldon, Sally Scharbrough as Camille and Amanda Lehman as Chenille. The show is directed by Elizabeth Stark Payne, with musical director Kristy Templet.

Now on stage through March 19, JUNIE B. JONES, THE MUSICAL is the first production in the 2016 Live Theatre for Kids series at Beef & Boards. Pyramid Players productions are one hour in length and presented without intermission. Performances are for all ages, but offered particularly for children in preschool through fourth grade. Children have the opportunity to meet the cast after each show for pictures and autographs.

Performances take place at 10 a.m. on most Fridays and at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on most Saturdays. An additional 3:30 p.m. performance will take place on Saturday, March 12. All tickets are $15.50 and include a snack. For reservations, contact the box office at 317.872.9664. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays.
